Hand-cast in solid brass (or silver-plated brass) from a Sydney rock oyster shell, the design has a hand-polished, mirrored interior finish to delicately catch the falling ash from Japanese incense.

Being handmade, variations in finish only add beauty to each piece and show their dissimilarity to the mass produced. Markings have been intentionally left on the piece to mimic the natural formation of an oyster shell.

Our Brass Oyster has been designed to be used alongside a range of Japanese Incense.

Crafted by artisans, our Oysters have been left untreated, allowing them patina naturally.

To reduce tarnishing, use a soft cloth to wipe the surface free of moisture, oils and particles after use.

To restore a 'like-new' finish, polish with a metal polishing cloth or solution, then buff clean.

Brass is a soft metal which can mark if treated poorly.
