With tobacco leaf and tonka bean, this is wonderfully big and punchy and a touch of vetiver and cinnamon to add warmth. The dry-down is a little naughty; leather and musk, quite animalic but it's a loud purr rather than a growl. Very easy to wear and it envelopes, wrapping you up in an olfactory hug.
'Tobak is a dark, pointed yet comforting scent composed of sweet smoky notes of tobacco leaf, vetiver, and warm hints of cinnamon. The base is made up of animalic musks and leather ; careful now, you might just get addicted.'

Artist/Perfumer Maya Njie is a self-taught 'nose', which means that she takes risks, bends the rules and produces scents that are truly innovative, unexpected, unique and iconic.
Part Swedish, part Gambian, but a resident of London for twenty years, hers is a wonderfully eclectic field of influence. The cool, minimal Swedish aesthetic meets the warmth and vibrancy of Africa and all in the huge cultural melting pot of one of the largest and most creative Capitals.
Maya's approach to creative perfumery is very personal as she seeks to recreate her own memories, resurrecting them not in a selfish way, but in order to construct a bridge to a wider shared consciousness - she wants her memories to create memories for others.
This collection is authentic; it stirs the mind and the emotions as little flashes of memory circulate behind the eyes. These are universal memories and Maya a contemporary sorcerer with an uncanny ability to tap into the collective experience. The fragrances are exciting, but there is also something strangely familiar about them that is both transporting and comforting at the same time. The formulae are quite minimal; no frills or fuss here, the scents shoot from the hip, which is just the way we like it.
All fragrances are eau de parfum strength and gender-neutral.
