This book is inspirational and uses food as therapy to help energise, relax, comfort etc. It is the perfect thing for the winter months, full of soothing, healthy but indulgent recipes, including a 'Mood Boosting Hot Chocolate' that is spiced and stimulates the brain! 'The Self-Care Cookbook' is about taking care of yourself and those that you love with food - a mini bible for these Covid times ! It is not posh food, but it is very pretty, healthy and comforting. We tried 'Sweet Stuffed Spuds' with tahini, herbs and spices which was glorious, and 'Fiery Bean Stew', which uses cayenne and ginger to make the tummy glow. 'Energising Green Stir-Fry' was the perfect, mid-week, pick-me-up and last night it was magical 'Magic Chilli' with its feel-good endorphins. This book is all about being kind to yourself and using the selenium, iron, magnesium, vitamins etc in food to help make life lovelier. I have snapped it up for Roullier White and thoroughly recommend both the recipes and motivation. We are saving the 'Comfort Pie' and 'Indulgent Chocolate Pud' for tomorrow!
