'Esprit de Contradiction' -  As the name suggests, this scent is a mass of polar opposites which dual in a most energetic and optimistic manner. A spiced citrus with woody base, I enjoyed this immensely as one's nose is in a state of perpetual excitement not knowing which ingredient will pop out next! Yellow mandarine and lemons give way to clove and ginger, a glorious orris, dark bitter sage, cedarwood and musk. For those that dance to their own tune!

I had been alerted to the talent at 'Maison Matine' last year and so it was kismet when my friend Anita arrived to unveil the EDP collection a few weeks ago.  This is a young, fresh and hugely innovative range of perfumes that seduced me instantly with six, highly idiosynchratic scents.

This brand is a breath of fresh air and has acheived that rare thing - something completely unique and inventive in a crowded market. I have enjoyed the experience of every one immensley and I congratulate the team on a tremendous collection!
