Founded by Monsieur Manuel Canovas in Paris in 1963, the French fabrics house has today developed into a collection of home interiors and accessories including fabrics, wall coverings, beachwear, bags, shoes and fragrances, both for the home and for the woman who loves and lives Manuel Canovas. Formally trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Beaux-Arts de Rome where he studied architecture, painting, drawing, botany and archaeology, he set up his own company to produce decorative fabrics and wallcoverings. His love of textiles, knowledge of painting and weaving techniques are evident in his creations.

 His style developed over the years and he became renowned worldwide for his beautiful colours, unique florals and luxurious weaves. A passion for travel, his admiration of Indian Art, the harmonies of refined colours and perfection of Japanese graphic arts and geometrics, nature and American folk art are all subjects for which Manuel Canovas draws inspiration. His passion for travels and the evocative scents he associates with them have been captured in a collection of five luxurious and distinctive EDPs. Today, the House of Manuel Canovas is part of the English fabric company and interior decorating firm, Colefax and Fowler. Each new collection continues the spirit and design philosophy of its founder Monsieur Manuel Canovas. Yet in contrast, continues to also offer new innovative textures and colours which are uniquely contemporary yet forever classic.
