Dr. Dulcamara's easily absorbed moisturising hand cream is perfumed with lavender essential oil; well know for its soothing and antiseptic properties. Its non-greasy texture means that it is easily absorbed by the skin to leave your hands soft and supple. The moisturising properties are enhanced by the presence of glycerine, which is a moisture attracting humectant.
Lavender is a native of the lower Alps bordering on the Mediterranean, and this region is still the main centre for lavender oil production today, although English lavender oil is famed for its quality. The Romans used lavender flowers in their public baths, and this has given rise to the name of the plant, from the word ‘lavare’ meaning to wash.
Dr. Dulcamara uses lavender oil in this preparations on account of its soothing and relaxing qualities. That, and the fact he likes the smell!
Each porcelain pot is about 10cm (4 inches) across and contains 70g (two and a half fluid ounces) of hand cream. The pot comes packed in a navy blue box.
